At the Honest.Money Live debut, Paul leaves room for digital currency while stressing free choice; Gray donates $10,000 to the Ron Paul Institute
MCKINNEY, TX, Sept. 24, 2026 — TEXITcoin, the layer-1 proof-of-work blockchain, today shared highlights from the debut of Honest.Money Live, its new broadcast series launched in cooperation with the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity. During the live conversation with former U.S. Congressman Ron Paul, TEXITcoin founder Bobby Gray made a $10,000 donation to the Institute in USDC during the broadcast.
Gray completed the donation on air using USDC, demonstrating the kind of direct digital payment he argues can support voluntary exchange. McAdams thanked him for the contribution and said it would help the Institute bring together voices from different backgrounds for future conversations.
Co-hosted by McAdams, the episode brought Gray and Paul together to discuss sound money, economic freedom and the future of the financial system. Gray, who testified before a congressional subcommittee chaired by Paul in 2012 about competing currencies, asked whether cryptocurrency could carry the principles of honest money to a younger generation. Paul did not endorse a particular cryptocurrency, he said competing approaches must be voluntary and open to persuasion.
“You might have an opinion on crypto, and you might think it’s best for you and your kids to do it this way, but you have to have some rules. The one rule is that everything has to be done by free choice,” stated Ron Paul.
When Gray asked whether he should continue pursuing honest money, Paul replied: “I think what you’re doing and you’re well on your way. I think you’re doing a great job, but there’s gonna be a lot of unknowns.”
Gray’s response was swift: “I will endeavor to continue every day to work hard to keep the message that you brought to me all those years ago alive and well.”
“Ron Paul is the reason I started working on honest money nearly two decades ago, so having him join our first episode meant a great deal to me. We don’t agree on every form money might take, and that’s exactly why this conversation matters.” Bobby Gray, Founder of TEXITcoin. “His point was that people should be free to choose and persuade one another, without having a solution forced on them. I believe digital currency deserves a place in that discussion, and Honest.Money Live gives us a way to have it openly with people from both worlds.”
