Jito’s Solana-based trading app, JTX, is about to get a lot bigger. Its leadership says an equities feature is weeks away, a mobile app is coming this fall, and perpetual futures could follow later this winter.
What Jito Plans to Ship
Jito Foundation President Brian Smith laid out the roadmap on Wednesday in an interview with The Block’s The Starting Block at the Digital Asset Summit 2026 Asia. The equities feature should arrive within two weeks, with a mobile app “later this fall.”
Perps are further out. “We definitely expect to integrate perps, maybe later this winter,” Smith said. He added that the team sees more room to stand out in spot trading, and that is where its attention is focused for now.
How JTX Works
JTX launched in July with spot trading for cbBTC, SOL, HYPE and memecoins, plus tokenized equities and ETFs. It charges a fee on each trade. Of that revenue, 80% goes to the Jito DAO to buy back and burn JTO tokens, while 20% is distributed to referrers.
Smith did not share trading volumes since launch when asked. He pointed to the pace of product development instead, saying the app’s user experience has improved considerably in the two months since July. Two full-time data scientists are mining onchain data for a planned in-app discovery feature.
“Permissionless Robinhood,” Not a Casino
Smith described JTX as a “permissionless Robinhood,” built for longer hold times and competitive fees. He contrasted it with other Solana apps, which he said lean toward early-stage memecoins. “It kind of feels like you’re walking into the floor of a casino,” he said. “And like that is not the vibe we’re going for.”
That fits the audience Jito Labs CEO Lucas Bruder described at launch: users who see themselves as traders rather than crypto-native participants.
Solana’s Perps Gap
Smith was candid about Solana’s weak spot. He said the network “has a lot of work to do” in perps and credited Hyperliquid with pulling centralized-exchange traders onchain. In spot trading, he called Solana “king.”
That candor helps explain the timeline. Jito is putting perps behind spot features, even as rivals push derivatives hard.
What to Watch
The missing volume figures are the main open question. Product updates are arriving quickly, but Jito hasn’t yet shown that users are trading in size. The equities launch in the next two weeks will be the first real test of whether JTX can attract the longer-term traders it is targeting.
