The IOTA Foundation has overhauled its long-running Ambassador Program, migrating it from Discord-based coordination to GiveRep, a SocialFi platform built on the SUI blockchain. The move introduces an automated, transparent system for tracking community engagement and distributing rewards — a key shift toward scalability and inclusivity.
From Manual Discord Management to On-Chain Reputation
Previously, the IOTA Ambassador Program relied heavily on Discord for coordination, requiring manual tracking of community contributions. While it cultivated a loyal base of IOTA supporters, the structure limited accessibility for new participants and external creators.
With the migration to GiveRep, IOTA now leverages a blockchain-native reputation model where community actions — such as content creation, event hosting, or social engagement on X — are automatically recorded as verifiable REP points. These on-chain metrics power real-time dashboards and data-driven reward mechanisms, ensuring fairness and transparency.
Participants can also earn additional perks, including influencer badges and reputation boosts by staking with the GiveRep validator, further aligning incentives within the IOTA ecosystem.
Expanding Reach Through the “Global Trade Powered by IOTA” Campaign
The platform’s relaunch coincides with the launch of IOTA’s first global campaign, “Global Trade Powered by IOTA,” running until November 17. The initiative highlights IOTA’s collaboration with the Trade Worldwide Information Network (TWIN) — a data-sharing infrastructure built on IOTA’s distributed ledger technology (DLT).
TWIN aims to revolutionize global trade by providing real-time, verifiable data exchange across industries and borders. Through features such as self-sovereign identity, digital product passports, and tokenized trade documents, the network addresses long-standing inefficiencies in compliance and auditability within international commerce.
Strengthening Global Influence in Tokenization and Policy
Beyond its community programs, IOTA continues to shape global blockchain standards. Members of the IOTA Foundation recently co-authored an INATBA report detailing the role of tokenization in finance and governance. Additionally, the OECD recognized IOTA as a leading contributor in trade digitalization, particularly for its Trade Logistics Information Pipeline (TLIP) — an IOTA-based infrastructure connecting global trade participants through transparent, paperless systems.

By integrating SocialFi tools like GiveRep and launching global campaigns such as “Global Trade Powered by IOTA,” the foundation is not only empowering its community but also reinforcing its position as a leader in blockchain-based trade innovation. The shift represents a major step toward a more transparent, inclusive, and data-driven IOTA ecosystem.
