XRP has once again found itself in the crosshairs of rival crypto communities, this time drawing fire from Litecoin supporters. What began as lighthearted jabs from the official Litecoin X account—mocking Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse as “Brad Garlicmouse” and dismissing XRP hype as “cosmic delusion”—has escalated into a broader debate over real-world adoption.
XRP Army Pushes Back Against Litecoin Criticism
A Litecoin community member claimed he had “never seen a real-life transaction on the XRP Ledger,” sparking backlash from the coin Army. Supporters quickly countered with on-chain data, highlighting the XRPL’s robust daily activity and its role in moving millions of dollars across borders.
XRPL Large-Value Transactions Surge
Independent analysis from XRPScan revealed that the XRPL processed 4,723 transactions worth at least 5,000 the coin ($14,000) on Sept. 2 alone. Within that figure, 2,145 transactions exceeded 20,000 XRP ($56,000), moving a total of more than $120 million in a single day.
More notably, 819 transactions topped 100,000 XRP ($280,000), representing over $229 million in value. These large-scale transfers are not isolated events; the ledger consistently records hundreds of such high-value movements daily, proving XRP’s utility extends far beyond “fractions of a penny.”
XRP Outpaces Litecoin in Network and Trading Activity
Data further shows the XRP Ledger consistently facilitates 700,000 to 1.1 million daily transactions, moving between $300 million and $1 billion in value. In comparison, Litecoin averages 175,000 to 200,000 transactions per day—a fraction of XRPL’s activity.
The gap is even wider in trading volume. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP’s 24-hour trading volume stands at $6.8 billion, ranking seventh overall. Litecoin trails far behind with $568.8 million, sitting in 31st place.

While rivalries are nothing new in crypto, the latest Litecoin vs. XRP feud underscores the importance of verifiable data. Despite criticism, the XRP Ledger continues to demonstrate strong real-world adoption with billions moved daily, placing it far ahead of Litecoin in both on-chain transactions and global market activity.
