- Ripple Prime tripled in size since acquisition, offering multi-asset brokerage services.
- RLUSD is gaining traction as a trusted institutional stablecoin.
- Strategic acquisitions strengthen Ripple’s ecosystem and XRP adoption potential.
Ripple has officially completed its acquisition of Hidden Road, now rebranded as Ripple Prime, marking a major milestone in the company’s push into institutional-grade crypto services. The move positions Ripple as the first crypto firm to operate a global, multi-asset prime broker, signaling a strong commitment to expanding its ecosystem and leveraging XRP and RLUSD in innovative ways.
Ripple Prime: A New Era in Prime Brokerage
Ripple Prime builds on Hidden Road’s reputation as one of the fastest-growing non-bank prime brokers, offering clearing, financing, and prime brokerage services across asset classes, including FX, derivatives, swaps, and digital assets. Since Ripple announced the acquisition in April, Ripple Prime’s operations have tripled in size, with further growth expected as integration progresses.
The opportunities now available to Ripple Prime (fka Hidden Road) are expansive. With $RLUSD already being used as collateral for a number of prime brokerage products, and Ripple Prime looking at a variety of ways to utilize XRP, the future ahead is mighty bright. https://t.co/YFSUQlyeOO

Monica Long, Ripple’s executive, emphasized the opportunities Ripple Prime now provides, particularly as RLUSD—the company’s institutional stablecoin—is already being used as collateral in multiple brokerage products. Ripple is also exploring additional applications for XRP within the platform, further solidifying its role in institutional finance.
RLUSD Gains Institutional Traction
RLUSD has emerged as a cornerstone of Ripple’s institutional offering. Some derivatives clients are holding balances in RLUSD, and its use as collateral continues to expand. Supported by strong regulatory compliance and BNY Mellon as its primary reserve custodian, RLUSD recently received an ‘A’ rating from blockchain analytics firm Bluechip for stability, governance, and asset backing. This momentum signals growing confidence among institutional players in blockchain-backed financial solutions.

Strategic Acquisitions Strengthen Ripple’s Ecosystem
Ripple Prime represents the fifth major acquisition in two years, following Metaco, Standard Custody, Rail, and GTreasury. These moves aim to enhance Ripple’s multi-asset capabilities and global footprint. Hidden Road founder Marc Asch will continue working with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse to ensure seamless integration, underscoring the shared focus on technology, risk management, and operational excellence.
Ripple’s expansion into prime brokerage through Ripple Prime, combined with RLUSD adoption and XRP integration, sets the stage for a new phase of institutional crypto adoption. As the company deepens its infrastructure for global financial markets, Ripple is positioning itself as a central player in the evolution of digital finance.
