Ripple’s XRP Ledger (XRPL) has been tapped to power the post-trade infrastructure of prime broker Hidden Road. The announcement was made by Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s Managing Director for the UK and Europe, who underscored XRPL’s integral role in bridging digital assets with traditional finance (TradFi).

Craddock revealed that XRPL will serve as the backbone of Hidden Road’s post-trade services, managing critical processes such as trade settlements and collateral transfers. “The XRP Ledger will be used as a post‑trade system for all of Hidden Road’s prime brokerage services,” she stated during an interview on BFM Business.

In addition to the ledger’s role, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin will also be utilized as collateral in the integration. This dual deployment of XRPL and RLUSD reflects Ripple’s strategic push to embed its blockchain infrastructure deeper into institutional financial systems.

Crypto analyst Crypto Eri highlighted the announcement on X, emphasizing that the XRPL will drastically reduce settlement times from 24 hours to just 3-5 seconds—an unprecedented leap in efficiency for a sector known for sluggish post-trade operations.

Hidden Road’s impressive transaction volume—over 50 million trades and $10 billion cleared daily—positions the XRP Ledger for a high-profile stress test. Ripple’s technology will now serve a client base of more than 300 hedge funds and trading firms, with an annual cleared volume exceeding $3 trillion.

Craddock noted that this integration signals a “bridge from digital assets to TradFi,” aligning with Ripple’s broader mission to make blockchain a pillar of institutional finance.

This development comes amid heightened expectations for a resolution in the ongoing XRP lawsuit and potential ETF listings, both of which could significantly boost investor confidence.

As Ripple deepens its roots in the financial ecosystem through the Hidden Road deal, XRPL’s performance could redefine how institutions interact with blockchain—marking a transformative moment for digital finance.
