  • Dan Tapiero expects Bitcoin to peak near $180K in this bull run.
  • He warns a 70% correction could follow the rally.
  • Long-term, he believes Bitcoin will reach $1 million within a decade.

Macro investor Dan Tapiero remains confident that Bitcoin is in the middle of a powerful bull cycle that could send prices soaring to $180,000 before the rally ends. Despite increased selling pressure from early “OG whales” and a recent dip in market sentiment, Tapiero told Cointelegraph that the “macro backdrop is still positive.”

He believes Bitcoin’s current performance doesn’t yet reflect the full extent of its underlying growth, pointing to structural improvements in the digital asset space.

Stablecoins, Institutions, and Regulation Drive Market Maturity

Tapiero highlighted three major forces shaping this cycle: the rise of stablecoins, growing institutional participation, and more transparent regulation. These developments, he said, have laid a stronger foundation for Bitcoin and the broader crypto market.

“The latest all-time high didn’t capture the fundamental improvements in the ecosystem,” Tapiero explained. He added that unlike in past cycles, Bitcoin now exists in a far more liquid and interconnected financial system, supported by maturing infrastructure.

Caution: Deep Corrections Still Part of the Cycle

However, Tapiero warned investors not to assume smooth sailing ahead. While he doesn’t expect another 90% drawdown like in 2018, he said a 70% correction remains possible once the current bull run peaks. “That’s not the way markets work,” he noted. “Even developed markets experience deep pullbacks.”

A $1 Million Bitcoin Within a Decade?

Despite the potential for volatility, Tapiero’s long-term view remains firmly bullish. With a 10-year outlook, he sees Bitcoin easily surpassing $1 million, driven by macro trends such as global liquidity expansion and increased adoption of digital assets.

Tapiero’s message is clear—Bitcoin’s bull market still has room to run, but investors should prepare for turbulence once euphoria fades. For patient holders, however, the next decade could mark Bitcoin’s most transformative era yet.
