Hyperliquid RWA Boom: 169,000 Wallets Join as Bitcoin Faces a $65K Liquidity Test

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
  • 169,000 wallets entered Hyperliquid through RWA-related activity during H1 2026.
  • Bitcoin faces a major liquidity test as gold attracts capital and stablecoin balances decline.
  • HYPE could benefit from RWA growth and institutional demand, with $60 and $51.20 emerging as key technical levels.

Hyperliquid’s growing real-world asset (RWA) activity is offering a different perspective on crypto adoption, even as Bitcoin faces a critical test above $65,000. Data from DeFiLlama suggests RWAs are becoming more than an entry point for new blockchain users, while gold’s rising appeal highlights the challenge Bitcoin faces in attracting fresh capital.

RWAs Become a Major Gateway on Hyperliquid

RWA-related activity represented 31.7% of new users on Hyperliquid during the first half of 2026, attracting roughly 169,000 wallets. The figures underline the growing importance of tokenized real-world exposures on the platform.

More notably, around 137,000 of those wallets remained focused on RWA markets instead of moving into major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. That means about 80.9% of RWA-driven users continued trading within the category.

The trend suggests RWAs could develop into a distinct segment of blockchain finance rather than simply serving as a bridge into traditional crypto markets. Adoption may therefore depend less on Bitcoin and Ethereum performance and more on institutional participation, regulation and demand for tokenized traditional assets.

HYPE Holds Up as RWA Activity Expands

The trend comes as HYPE remains relatively resilient. The token was trading around $57.39 at press time, representing a 22.52% gain over the previous year.

A move above its descending trendline could open the door toward $57.21 and potentially $60, while a breakdown in support could expose the $51.20 area.

Institutional activity also provides a potentially supportive backdrop. HYPE-linked ETFs have recorded approximately $297.73 million in inflows against $15.16 million in outflows since launch. Bitwise has also accumulated 28,085.8 HYPE from Nonco for ETF clients before moving the tokens into its HYPE wallet.

Bitcoin Needs More Than a Fed Liquidity Boost

Bitcoin’s own outlook is increasingly tied to liquidity. BTC recently reclaimed its six-day downtrend and gained another 1.7% as the new week began, fueling expectations of a challenge toward $65,000.

Yet gold remains a major obstacle. The BTC/XAU ratio has fallen 7.22% this month, indicating continued investor preference for the traditional safe haven. Token Terminal data also shows strong growth in tokenized gold, with XAUT’s market capitalization rising by $237.1 million and PAXG gaining $125.3 million over 30 days.

The Federal Reserve’s planned $17 billion liquidity injection could support risk assets, but the impact on Bitcoin may be limited if capital continues flowing toward gold. DeFiLlama data shows more than $5 billion has left the stablecoin market this quarter and over $10 billion across the broader period.

For Bitcoin to break decisively higher and approach $70,000, liquidity likely needs to return to on-chain markets. Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s RWA growth demonstrates that new capital may increasingly target specific blockchain-based exposures rather than crypto’s traditional majors.

The contrasting trends point to a market where liquidity, institutional demand and asset preferences could matter as much as technical momentum.
