The Solana-based memecoin Dogwifhat (WIF) has addressed ongoing concerns about its crowdfunding campaign, the “Sphere Wif Hat” initiative, aimed at showcasing the token’s logo on the Las Vegas Sphere. The fundraiser, which raised a staggering $700,000 within days of its March 10 launch, has yet to materialize into the highly anticipated advertisement, leaving donors and supporters waiting for an update.

In a recent post on January 31, Dogwifcoin explained that negotiations with multiple parties are still underway to secure the advertisement placement. Since the Wif team is not a corporate entity, the project organizers are working with an established brand to bring the ad to fruition. The timeline for the ad placement has now been finalized, and all parties involved have agreed to the schedule. However, if the plan fails to go ahead as promised, Dogwifcoin assured supporters that they would be refunded in full.
The campaign had initially gained significant momentum, with WIF reaching an all-time high of $4.85 just three weeks after the fundraising launch. However, the token has since seen a sharp decline, losing nearly 77% of its value and trading at $1.12 at the time of publication, according to CoinMarketCap data.
In an interview with Cointelegraph in July 2024, one of the five campaign organizers, Mihir, expressed confidence that the initiative would go ahead. At the time, he mentioned that representatives from the Las Vegas Sphere had crafted new “crypto-specific” terms in response to the campaign. The Sphere team has been working closely with the Dogwifhat team to meet their criteria, although it appears the timeline has shifted as they continue ironing out the details.

Dogwifcoin emphasized that there was no intention to mislead supporters and assured that if the project is not completed as planned, they will honor their commitment to refund all donations.
