- Cardano’s DeFi TVL Nears $700M as ADA Surges to 2022 Highs
Cardano’s decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem is witnessing explosive growth, with its Total Value Locked (TVL) nearing an all-time high of $750 million. According to DeFiLlama, the network’s TVL has surged to $729 million, fueled by bullish market sentiment and increased adoption.

Cardano’s DeFi Revival
The blockchain’s TVL recovery is remarkable, bouncing back from a low of $50 million in November 2022 after FTX’s collapse. This growth underlines renewed investor confidence in Cardano, positioning it as a rising force in the DeFi space.
Cardano’s decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have also contributed to this momentum, recording a daily trading volume of $22.35 million — the highest since December 2023. Weekly DEX volumes reached $117.32 million, their best performance since May 2023.
Charles Hoskinson, Cardano’s founder, hailed this resurgence, calling it the “dawn of DeFi activity” on the network.
ADA Price Momentum
The network’s DeFi gains have coincided with a rally in Cardano’s native token, ADA. Over the past week, ADA has surged over 20%, peaking at $1.21, its highest level since 2022. This rally has pushed Cardano’s market capitalization beyond $40 billion, making it the ninth-largest cryptocurrency globally.
Ecosystem Innovations Driving Growth
Cardano’s rise is attributed to advancements like Zero-Knowledge (ZK) technology implementation and its transition toward decentralized governance. These innovations have strengthened the network’s appeal and laid a solid foundation for sustained growth.
As Cardano’s ecosystem continues to expand, its DeFi surge and ADA’s impressive rally highlight its growing influence in the crypto space.
