Aster Whale Opens 20x Shorts on XRP, BTC, ETH, SOL and DOGE, All in Profit

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

A large trader on Aster has stacked leveraged short positions across five major assets. According to the account data, every trade is currently in profit.

The XRP Short

The wallet, 0xdd6a…c065, holds a short on 1,795,706 XRP with an entry price of $1.4384. At the time of the snapshot, the position was worth about $2.52 million. It showed an unrealized profit of $62,311.50 and an ROE of +49.44%.

XRP Short Reaches $2.52M
Aster account 0xdd6a…c065 shows a 1.795 million XRP short opened at $1.4384 with 20x leverage and roughly $62,312 in unrealized profit.

The trade stays in the green as long as XRP trades below its entry. A move back above $1.4384 would start eating into those gains, and a stronger rally would put real pressure on a position running at 20x leverage.

Bigger Bets Elsewhere

XRP is not the account’s largest position. By notional value, the account also holds:

  • ETH: 3,596.87 ETH worth $9.24 million, with unrealized profit of $163,952.59 (+35.48% ROE)
  • SOL: 75,000 SOL worth about $8.65 million, entered at $117.4716, with roughly $165,212 in unrealized profit (+38.22% ROE)
  • DOGE: 47.84 million DOGE worth $4.19 million, with about $233,461.60 in unrealized profit (+111.55% ROE)
  • BTC: 18.633 BTC worth about $1.54 million, with $4,600.76 in unrealized profit (+5.96% ROE)

DOGE is the best performer by return, while the BTC short is the smallest and has barely moved into profit. All positions use 20x leverage.

What the Account Holds

The address showed a balance of about $3.94 million. Most of it, 3.81 million USDT, is stablecoin collateral. The rest is 181,317 ASTER tokens valued near $129,593.

Adding the five positions together gives roughly $26 million in short exposure, by our calculation. That is several times the account balance, which helps explain why a sharp rebound could hurt quickly.

What the Data Doesn’t Tell Us

The figures come from a snapshot of an onchain account, so they show positions at one moment, not intent. A large short could be a directional bet, a hedge against holdings elsewhere, or part of a wider strategy that can’t be seen from one wallet. Unrealized profit can also vanish if prices turn, and the data doesn’t show how the trader manages risk.

What to Watch

The XRP entry at $1.4384 is the line to track. A sustained move above it would turn the trade against the holder, and the same logic applies to the SOL entry at $117.4716. With five correlated shorts at 20x, a broad market bounce would hit every position at once.
