Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has broken his months-long silence, responding to mounting concerns over the direction of the project. After going quiet since August 5, Kusama acknowledged the community’s worries following the recent Shibarium Bridge hack, which led to losses of nearly $3 million in SHIB and ETH.
Frustration among holders had grown as ecosystem tokens struggled to gain momentum, fueling speculation that Kusama might have abandoned the project. He quickly dismissed such rumors, calling them “utterly preposterous,” and reaffirmed his commitment to the broader Shiba Inu ecosystem.
Kusama’s AI Vision for Shiba Inu
Kusama revealed that his focus has shifted toward artificial intelligence initiatives designed to benefit all Shiba Inu tokens, including SHIB, BONE, and TREAT. He stressed that the complexity of the AI projects requires careful planning, and the team is actively exploring possibilities in what he described as “the war room.”
Although I have mentioned many times that my focus now lies outside Shib as I push for AI initiatives to better all our tokens, to suggest that I am anywhere except beside @kaaldhairya, the devs and other appropriate parties figuring out next steps is utterly preposterous ->.

Since May, Kusama has been researching AI applications that could position Shiba Inu at the forefront of the next technological wave. Earlier updates included a playful nod to the month of July as “Jul-AI,” teasing future announcements. While details remain scarce, he assured the community that significant developments will be shared through official Shiba Inu channels.
Community Concerns and Transparency Issues
Despite Kusama’s reassurance, some investors remain uneasy due to his ongoing anonymity. While pseudonymous leadership is common in crypto, it has raised concerns about accountability, transparency, and long-term credibility. For Shiba Inu, which aims to evolve into a broader ecosystem, these issues could impact trust among institutional investors and regulators alike.
Kusama thanked the community for its patience, emphasizing that updates would be communicated when the AI initiative and other project plans are ready to be shared. The message underscores that while Shiba Inu faces challenges, its leadership remains active and committed to innovation.

While security incidents and anonymous leadership raise questions, his message confirms that the project is far from abandoned. Shiba Inu holders now await tangible progress and detailed updates on both ecosystem security and AI-driven developments.
