VeChain has announced a global hackathon offering a $30,000 prize pool in VET, calling on developers worldwide to build Web3 applications that push the boundaries of blockchain adoption. The competition, which runs until October 5, is designed to showcase practical solutions in scalability, sustainability, and social impact.
Key Dates and Participation
Submissions officially opened on September 22 and will close on October 5 at 23:59 (UTC+2). Winners will be announced on October 13, giving participants just under two weeks to refine and submit their projects. VeChain has a history of high-profile hackathons, including past collaborations with EasyA, BCG, and Harvard University, underlining its commitment to building a developer-driven ecosystem.
Judging and Criteria
Projects will be evaluated across four pillars—impact, feasibility, execution, and ecosystem value—each weighted equally. To qualify, every entry must:
- Integrate the B3TR token as a reward mechanism.
- Ensure compatibility with the VeWorld wallet.
- Include AI-powered functionality that provides real utility.
- Show a clear focus on sustainability in line with VeChain’s X-to-Earn principles.
This structure ensures submissions are not only visionary but also practical and aligned with VeChain’s long-term roadmap.
Support for Developers
To help builders succeed, VeChain is running a Global Hackathon Workshop Series that provides recorded sessions, code repositories, and hands-on resources. Developers can sharpen skills in smart contracts, backend integration with VeChain SDK, and interface building with VeChainKit, ensuring their dApps are both functional and user-friendly.
