Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has hinted at a potential collaboration with the XRP ecosystem, sparking excitement among crypto communities. Speaking during a recent AMA session, Hoskinson revealed he had spoken with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and noted that the upcoming integration of XRP into the Lace Wallet could happen before year’s end.
Building Bridges Between Cardano and XRP
Hoskinson said it would be “a lot of fun” to work with the XRP community, adding that he would love to host a joint event with stakeholders such as pro-crypto attorney John Deaton. The event, if confirmed, would mark a rare cross-ecosystem collaboration in an industry often divided by tribalism.
The move comes at a time when interoperability and cooperation are becoming more crucial to blockchain adoption. Prominent XRP community member BankXRP praised the idea, noting that collaboration fuels innovation, boosts adoption, and builds trust across the crypto landscape.
Midnight Airdrop Gains Momentum
Hoskinson also updated the community on the progress of the Midnight airdrop, which he described as one of the largest in crypto history. Over 1.6 billion NIGHT tokens have already been redeemed, with eligibility extended beyond ADA holders to include BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, BNB, AVAX, and BAT holders.
He highlighted the airdrop’s layered strategy of engaging multiple ecosystems, which he believes could make Midnight a landmark project in Web3 privacy and interoperability.
While some critics raised concerns about potential insider manipulation of the distribution, Hoskinson dismissed the claims, emphasizing that the airdrop has been “doing incredibly well” and urging the community to avoid spreading misinformation.
XRP Lawyer John Deaton Responds
Responding to Hoskinson’s invitation, John Deaton said on X that it would be an “honor and pleasure” to work alongside the Cardano founder and other crypto leaders at a joint event. His response added momentum to speculation that Cardano and XRP could strengthen ties through future collaborations.
With growing calls for cross-chain initiatives and shared infrastructure, Hoskinson’s comments underscore a broader shift toward unity among major blockchain projects. If realized, an ADA–XRP partnership could be a significant milestone in crypto’s journey toward mainstream adoption.
