BitMine Buys 110,000+ ETH — Aims to Control 5% of All Ethereum Supply

  • BitMine now holds 3.5M ETH worth around $12.5B, up 34% from last week.
  • Tom Lee predicts ETH could reach $10K–$12K by end of 2025.
  • BitMine aims to own 5% of Ethereum’s total supply amid growing Wall Street adoption.

BitMine Immersion Technologies has once again expanded its Ethereum (ETH) holdings, purchasing 110,288 ETH this week — a 34% increase from the previous week’s accumulation. The firm’s total treasury now stands at 3.5 million ETH, acquired at an average price of $3,639 per token, worth approximately $12.5 billion at current market levels.

Chairman Tom Lee said the company viewed Ethereum’s recent price weakness as an “attractive opportunity” to accumulate more, noting that Wall Street’s growing interest in asset tokenization underpins Ethereum’s long-term potential.

Aiming for 5% of Ethereum’s Total Supply

Originally a crypto mining company, BitMine has evolved into the largest Ethereum-holding corporate entity, now owning 2.9% of the total ETH supply. The company’s goal is to reach 5% ownership, a level that would cement its dominance as an institutional-scale ETH holder.

Lee emphasized that Ethereum’s role in tokenizing real-world assets is “the key fundamental story” that will drive value creation over the next decade. His bullish tone suggests BitMine isn’t concerned about short-term price fluctuations.

Lee’s Bold Price Prediction Faces a Steep Climb

In October, Lee predicted ETH could hit $10,000–$12,000 by the end of 2025. With ETH currently trading near $3,560, the token would need to rally by roughly 180% in the next 13 months to meet that target.

While BitMine’s treasury remains slightly underwater at present, the company’s long-term accumulation strategy signals strong conviction. Meanwhile, BitMine’s stock (BMNR) has soared over 400% year-to-date, reflecting investor optimism about the firm’s Ethereum-heavy approach.

Long-Term Vision Over Short-Term Volatility

BitMine’s relentless ETH accumulation, despite market weakness, underscores a growing institutional belief that Ethereum is foundational to blockchain’s next phase — real-world asset tokenization. Whether Lee’s “super cycle” prediction plays out or not, BitMine’s aggressive buying spree positions it as a defining force in Ethereum’s institutional era.
