- Bitfinex Securities completed its largest-ever capital raise at $50 million through Alkemya’s ALKN token.
- ALKN represents fractional interests in a partnership holding about 7 million meters of high-purity nickel wire.
- Alkemya plans to use the proceeds to commercialize engineered nickel products for industries including semiconductors.
Bitfinex Securities has completed a $50 million capital raise for metals company Alkemya, setting a new record for the tokenized securities platform as demand for blockchain-based real-world assets (RWAs) continues to develop. The deal gives eligible investors digital, fractional exposure to interests in a Luxembourg-based partnership backed by a substantial nickel inventory.
Alkemya Token Raises $50 Million
The transaction centers on ALKN, a tokenized security representing limited partnership interests in Alkemya Metacore SCSp, a Luxembourg-registered entity holding around 7 million meters of 99.99% pure nickel wire.
According to the companies, the nickel holdings were independently valued at approximately $1.64 billion. The tokenization allows investors to hold digitally transferable fractional interests in the partnership while giving Alkemya a way to raise capital against its underlying assets.
The $50 million transaction is the largest capital raise completed by Bitfinex Securities so far.
Bitfinex Securities Expands Tokenized RWA Offering
The Alkemya deal surpasses Bitfinex Securities’ previous record of $30 million, set by USTBL, a tokenized U.S. Treasury product issued under El Salvador’s Digital Asset Law.
Bitfinex Securities said it has now completed seven capital raises and listed 16 assets. The latest transaction highlights the platform’s broader push into tokenized real-world assets, where traditional financial or physical assets are represented digitally on blockchain infrastructure.
For Alkemya, ALKN is its first tokenization initiative. The company is using the structure to broaden access to its nickel-backed investment opportunity while connecting its physical asset base with digital capital markets.
Nickel Products Target Semiconductor Industry
Alkemya intends to deploy proceeds from the raise toward commercializing engineered nickel products, including materials designed for applications in the semiconductor sector.
The company’s strategy gives the fundraising a commercial purpose beyond simply tokenizing an existing asset. The proceeds are expected to support the development and commercialization of products linked to its nickel resources.
Additional ALKN tokens will remain available to eligible investors through Bitfinex Securities until October 15. However, investors should note that secondary-market trading will not begin immediately. The companies said secondary trading will only start after completion of the next fundraising tranche.
The record $50 million Bitfinex Securities raise demonstrates how tokenized securities are increasingly being used to connect conventional assets with blockchain-based investment infrastructure. However, the delayed secondary trading also shows that tokenization does not automatically guarantee immediate liquidity.
For Alkemya, the transaction provides new capital to pursue its engineered nickel business. For Bitfinex Securities, it marks another step in expanding its tokenized asset marketplace and sets a higher benchmark for future offerings.
