Solana Seeker – New Crypto Smartphone Surpasses 140,000 Presales Ahead Of 2025 Launch

Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of blockchain pioneer Solana Labs, has unveiled its much-anticipated second crypto smartphone, the “Solana Seeker,” at TOKEN2049 in Singapore. The device, previously known as “Chapter Two,” has already made waves with over 140,000 presales across 57 countries. Slated for a mid-2025 release, this new smartphone aims to elevate the Web3 mobile experience to new heights.

Emmett Hollyer, Solana Mobile’s General Manager, shared the excitement surrounding the launch: “The reaction to Chapter Two has been extraordinary. It’s as if the entire Solana community rallied behind our Web3 mobile mission.” The Seeker’s name draws inspiration from a quote by Alan Watts, emphasizing the device’s commitment to exploring the uncharted realms of technology and user experience.

The Seeker marks a strategic shift from its predecessor, the Solana Saga. While Saga was celebrated for introducing Web3 mobile on Solana, the Seeker focuses on enhancing functionality and user engagement. Hollyer elaborated, “The Seeker is about what the device can do, providing an immersive experience for those eager to dive into the Web3 space.”

To coincide with the Solana Breakpoint conference, Solana Mobile has reintroduced its “Early Founder” preorder price of $450, a reduction from the anticipated retail price of $500. This move follows the Saga’s initial struggle to gain traction, which was later reversed by a surge in popularity driven by the Solana-based dog memecoin, Bonk.

Echoing past successes, presale demand for the Seeker soared after the device was bundled with two cat-themed memecoins: Maneki (MANEKI) and Cat in a Dogs World (MEW). These airdrops provided a value equivalent to the device’s price, fueling the surge in presales.

Solana Seeker comes equipped with a host of advanced features, including the Seed Vault Wallet—a mobile-first crypto wallet integrated with a self-custodial seed vault. This innovative feature enables users to send transactions with a double tap and choose between primary and burner modes for enhanced security and convenience. The device also boasts a revamped Solana dApp Store, designed to improve app discoverability across various sectors like payments, DeFi, NFTs, and gaming.

Adding a touch of exclusivity, the Seeker includes the Seeker Genesis Token, a unique NFT that offers VIP membership perks and unlocks exclusive rewards and content within the Solana ecosystem. Hollyer highlighted, “The Genesis token aligns incentives for users and builders, making Seeker a powerful rewards magnet in the Web3 space.”

Anatoly Yakovenko, Solana co-founder and CEO, emphasized the broader vision behind the Seeker: “Our mission is to advance crypto mobile, making it more accessible and integrated for Web3.” With features like the Seed Vault Wallet and the updated dApp Store, the Solana Seeker is poised to become the definitive Web3 mobile device upon its release.

As anticipation builds for the Seeker’s mid-2025 launch, the Solana community remains abuzz with excitement, signaling a promising future for Web3 mobile innovation.
