Ripple President Monica Long Reveals XRP Ledger’s Future: Stablecoins, Tokenization & U.S. Expansion

In a recent interview with the Tokenized Podcast, Ripple President Monica Long shared her insights on the company’s evolving role in the blockchain ecosystem, emphasizing the growth of stablecoin payments, Ripple custody solutions, and asset tokenization. Long believes that 2025 could mark a major shift in stablecoin adoption, with Ripple poised to capitalize on the opportunity.

Ripple’s Vision: Enterprise Software, XRP Ledger, and Stablecoins

During the interview, Long highlighted how Ripple’s blockchain network enables seamless tokenization, storage, movement, and exchange of value, reinforcing its primary use case—payments. She also stressed the importance of Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, describing it as the vital fuel for the company’s expanding ecosystem.

Furthermore, Long emphasized XRP Ledger’s open-source code, which contributes significantly to blockchain innovation. She outlined Ripple’s 2025 roadmap, which includes becoming a licensed payment service provider while strengthening partnerships with crypto-native firms, centralized exchanges, and fintech players.

Additionally, Ripple continues to focus on cross-border transactions, particularly using stablecoins, while maintaining its legacy of serving large banking institutions. Long revealed that Ripple has already facilitated $70 billion in digital asset transactions across nearly 40 million transfers.

Ripple Custody’s $20 Trillion Opportunity

Following Ripple’s 2023 acquisition of Metaco, its custody solutions are now targeting a $20 trillion market. Long noted that global banking giants such as HSBC and DBS have already embraced Ripple’s custody solutions, signaling growing institutional confidence in blockchain-based asset management.

Regulatory Clarity, Tokenized Assets, and XRP ETF Optimism

Long also addressed the evolving U.S. regulatory landscape, particularly after the Donald Trump administration assumed office. She urged banks to embrace stablecoin and real-world asset (RWA) strategies, stating: “Every company needs a stablecoin strategy, and every bank needs an RWA strategy.”

With increasing regulatory clarity, Ripple anticipates greater banking sector involvement in blockchain finance. Long also expressed optimism about an XRP ETF, as nine companies have already filed applications. She believes that recent changes at the SEC could boost the likelihood of approval.
