The Shiba Inu community has been buzzing with discussions surrounding the underperformance of the BONE token, with members pointing fingers at Kusama and K9 Finance for their perceived lack of promotion and awareness campaigns.
Enes Turyan, a prominent Shiba Inu community member, ignited the conversation by criticizing Kusama and K9 Finance for their alleged failure to adequately promote BONE. Turyan argued that a knowledge gap exists among potential users, as many are unaware of the token’s purpose and its role in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, particularly in conjunction with Shibarium.
The BONE token has been struggling to gain traction, with its price plummeting by 68% over the past year. Many community members attribute this underperformance to poor adoption, with Javier Olmedo highlighting the relatively small holder base of 95,000 compared to the SHIB Army’s 1.4 million-strong holder base.
Turyan believes that this disparity is due to a lack of awareness about BONE among SHIB holders, which he blames on Kusama. He contends that if BONE had been properly promoted, it could have reached a price of at least $5.60.
In response to the criticism, Kusama stressed that BONE is fully integrated into the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s governance and technology. However, community members remain unconvinced, questioning why Kusama does not promote BONE as much as other tokens despite claiming its vital role in the ecosystem’s future.
As the debate continues, it remains to be seen whether Kusama and K9 Finance will take steps to address the community’s concerns and improve the visibility and adoption of the BONE token.
As the debate around BONE’s underperformance rages on, some community members have suggested that K9 Finance, a partner of Shiba Inu, could also play a more active role in promoting the token. While K9 Finance has been involved in various initiatives within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, some argue that it could do more to educate the community about BONE’s benefits and use cases, especially as Shibarium, the layer-2 solution for Shiba Inu, continues to develop.
